In the 19th minute, Dimas Amaro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 22nd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Revheim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when POPODARA F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruperto Gonza didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, POPODARA F.C's Thomas Revheim got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. POPODARA F.C were awarded a corner in the 39th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Kryspin Mazierski took the corner. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. The Ecuador manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing POPODARA F.C to win.
