The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hershel Guertin got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 7th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Illescas to maneuver through the defense. The The Northmen Army fans' excitement grew in the 9th match minute when The Northmen Army's Hershel Guertin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Hershel Guertin took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hershel Guertin in the 17th minute. Fortunato Stefano made in the 18th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Hershel Guertin. In the 20th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stig Bengtsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute, Guillermo Mariano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. One of The Northmen Army:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Venezuela:s goal. The Northmen Army:s Stig Bengtsson showed great skill when he stopped Tomas Illescas:s penalty. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stig Bengtsson. Stig Bengtsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Stig Bengtsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 30th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Tomas Illescas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Stig Bengtsson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 33rd minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. The Northmen Army's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. Joshua Secada's late challenge caught a The Northmen Army's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joshua Secada helped the player get up and apologised. In the 33rd minute, Joshua Secada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35th minute, Hershel Guertin made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. The Northmen Army's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hershel Guertin in the 39th minute. The corner led The Northmen Army's Hershel Guertin to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hershel Guertin in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Hershel Guertin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Northmen Army the free kick. In the 51st minute, Tomas Illescas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hershel Guertin went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. Stig Bengtsson made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. After 60 minutes The Northmen Army's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. In the 62nd minute, one of The Northmen Army:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for The Northmen Army. Stig Bengtsson went to the wrong direction when Tomas Illescas was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Marc Lagerberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 68th minute, Walery Ludzia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kevin Näfver in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Northmen Army's Stig Bengtsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 75th minute of play. 75 minutes into the game, Venezuela's Patricio Costa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stig Bengtsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-2. The supporters of Venezuela booed when The Northmen Army was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walery Ludzia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Fortunato Stefano, made in the 84th minute of the game. After having played for 86 minutes, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 90 minutes into the game, Fortunato Stefano threw the ball into play from the sideline. Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion.
