Andrey Dvoryankin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, Arsenal F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Andrey Dvoryankin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Paolo Rossi sent off a good shot on target. Alberto Tafalla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andrey Dvoryankin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 30th minute of play forced Arsenal F.C.'s goalkeeper Andrey Dvoryankin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniil Fomin went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniil Fomin was the one to do the kick off. In the 89th minute, Luca Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stanislav Sharapov in the 94th minute of play. Many of Mexico's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Mexico may have spent more time on the ball, but Arsenal F.C. were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
