The Bierunese fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Kevin Arnolds managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bierunese's supporters rose to their feet, but Kevin Arnolds was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kevin Arnolds in the 6th minute. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Kevin Arnolds tried to sneak it across the goal line. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Kevin Arnolds scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 4-0. If Donato Alvarez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kevin Arnolds scored 5-0 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 27 minutes into the game, Christiaan Schipper recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Christiaan Schipper showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 6-0. In the 35th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. Kevin Arnolds had several of the Costa Rica's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 37 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 7-0 score and a disappointed Benito Sanz as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 41st match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Carballo to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Abel Carballo hit a great ball. 43 minutes into the match, Donato Alvarez notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 46th minute, Kevin Arnolds left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kevin Arnolds was the one to do the kick off. In the 52ndth minute of the game Kevin Arnolds who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 53rd minute, Donato Alvarez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 10-0. When Bierunese's Kevin Arnolds in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Baldomiro Clementi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 63 minutes into the game, Donato Alvarez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 11-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Christiaan Schipper's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Baldomiro Clementi struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bierunese. In the 74th minute Kevin Arnolds shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Baldomiro Clementi came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 78th minute Bierunese were awarded a corner. Donato Alvarez went to the cornerflag to take it. When Christiaan Schipper came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Bierunese fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christiaan Schipper couldn't finish the play. The Bierunese fans' excitement grew in the 81st match minute when Bierunese's Kevin Arnolds looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 13-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 86 minutes into the game, Bierunese's Baldomiro Clementi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 14-0. 90 minutes into the match, Christiaan Schipper had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Christiaan Schipper was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 15-0. Kevin Arnolds took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 16-0.
