With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dantel Quindos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gau Piedra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bartuelo Villafranca struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.D Escuela Mayor. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Guillermo Mariano got a free kick in the 35th minute. 41 minutes into the match, C.D Escuela Mayor's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Dantel Quindos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eleuterio Huercanos was the one to do the kick off. Dantel Quindos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 52nd minute of the match. Bartuelo Villafranca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Dantel Quindos managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Dantel Quindos in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. C.D Escuela Mayor fully deserved thier win.
