An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelino Verdeja in the 3rd minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 5 minutes into the match, RACIN DE CHAWEN's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Marco Pedriza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Caetano Galnares. Mariano Lacasa charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mariano Lacasa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 9th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Pedriza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chile's Xavier Figueroa was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marco Pedriza in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in RACIN DE CHAWEN's zone, Mariano Lacasa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Pedriza came out of the goal and Mariano Lacasa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marco Pedriza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 18th minute of the match. A very nice done corner allowed Alan Tamayo to score against Marco Pedriza in RACIN DE CHAWEN's goal. 0-1 after 19 minutes. Marco Pedriza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 23rd minute of play. Thiago Pliego made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rufo Serra in the 25th minute. Tulio Mangas made in the 29th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Marcelino Verdeja. Thiago Pliego made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rufo Serra in the 35th minute. If Rufo Serra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tulio Mangas hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The RACIN DE CHAWEN players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Chile were winning 0-4.

Mariano Lacasa scored 0-5 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marco Pedriza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 55th minute, Mariano Lacasa made a precise shot to the right of Marco Pedriza. RACIN DE CHAWEN's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Caetano Galnares in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thiago Pliego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caetano Galnares in the 59th minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, RACIN DE CHAWEN's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Casaus came free, but Marco Pedriza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marco Pedriza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orlando Casaus, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. 64 minutes into the game, RACIN DE CHAWEN's Marcelino Verdeja nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thiago Pliego made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-6. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mariano Lacasas short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Marco Pedriza to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The crowd rose to their feet as Chile's Orlando Casaus slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marco Pedriza. That made the score 1-7 after 80 minutes of play. In the 86th minute, Marcelino Verdeja ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thiago Pliego was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-7. When Caetano Galnares came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the RACIN DE CHAWEN fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caetano Galnares couldn't finish the play. If Marcelino Verdeja had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The RACIN DE CHAWEN fans' excitement grew in the 95th match minute when RACIN DE CHAWEN's Caetano Galnares looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-7 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Chile had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
