After 54 played minutes U21 Brazil got a freekick which was hit by Enrique Ferreira. In the 56th minute of the match, Rony Dudu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Luiz Paulo Mazza saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Gui Catarinense's late challenge caught a U21 Brazil's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gui Catarinense helped the player get up and apologised. In the 72nd minute, Gui Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wellington Phoenix's Wellington Phoenix was substituted for 詹俊 á Bø. Luiz Paulo Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lionel Messias in the 93rd minute of play. Michel Neuer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wellington Phoenix in the 95th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the U21 Brazil players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Wellington Phoenix.
