The referee ignored Garchofila FC's protests and gave William Tasso a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Garchofila FC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Ciriaco Christobal hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 11th minute of play forced Garchofila FC's goalkeeper Anko Anko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anko Anko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anko Anko saved Garchofila FC from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Anko Anko in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Garchofila FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. William Tasso didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Garchofila FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
