Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 minutes of play, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Trey Easley made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! 5 minutes into the match, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Herb Good reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Herb Good took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 7th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ecuador's Luis Andino was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Herb Good in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Trey Easley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Herb Good did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 17th minute of play forced Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goalkeeper Herb Good to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean Britton in the 18th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jean Britton got free with Julio Vera in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jean Britton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Herb Good was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Sport Lisboa e Benfica getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Collin Grimm hit a great ball. In the 41st minute of the match Sport Lisboa e Benfica got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Barış Birsoy ran over to the corner to take the kick. Barış Birsoy made a great header on Sport Lisboa e Benfica's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sport Lisboa e Benfica were awarded a corner in the 45th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Barış Birsoy took the corner. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jean Britton to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Herb Good narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cristian Sancho succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 57th playminute. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 67th minute after Sport Lisboa e Benfica's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Herb Good despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Herb Good made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Herb Good got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Herb Good showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 76th minute of play forced Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goalkeeper Herb Good to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agustín Saelices did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-3 to the left of a surprised Herb Good 78 minutes into the match. 81 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Herb Good. Cristian Sancho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. With his leg Herb Good managed to avoid a goal in the 84thth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Trey Easley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jean Britton struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Lisboa e Benfica. Herb Good made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 96th minute. The Sport Lisboa e Benfica fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
