The referee felt a red card was in order, 10 minutes into the game, when Candido Buinton put in a rough tackle. A collision led to The Old Boys getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Candido Buinton hit a great ball. After 12 played minutes, Haiti's Rodney Emmanuel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Generoso Koldobika came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Haiti reached it. In the 14th minute, Jean Marie Alcius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Generoso Koldobika took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Alphonse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Felix Dorval in the 24th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by The Old Boys's Cláudio Suárez. The supporters of The Old Boys booed when Haiti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean Marie Alcius didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd minute, Cláudio Suárez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Philippe Ambroise had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jonathan Alphonse made a kick off. After some careless play in the The Old Boys defense, Jonathan Alphonse kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Generoso Koldobika. The The Old Boys fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Generoso Koldobika should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, The Old Boys's Gerardo Guerau got a free kick in the 57th minute. The Old Boys's Generoso Koldobika played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gesner Philippe in the 59th minute of play. Generoso Koldobika made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Alphonse in the 62nd minute of play. Cláudio Suárez kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Haiti's Jonathan Alphonse tried to score from far away in the 64th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 73 minutes into the game, Raymond Louis threw the ball into play from the sideline. The Old Boys's Cláudio Suárez quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 83rd minute, Gerardo Guerau hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, The Old Boys's Saverio Bautista got a free kick in the 89th minute. Generoso Koldobika didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jonathan Alphonse went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. The Old Boys's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
