Pedro Manzanares yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. A collision led to Estudiantes de rio IV getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Vilgot Bäcklin hit a great ball. Emilio Palos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 25th minute of play. Abel Gutxi made in the 26th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Dalmacio Musko however managed to control. After 28 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Colombia! In the 35th minute Abram Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Palos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Colombia booed when Estudiantes de rio IV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Gutxi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Abram Sarmiento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colombia's supporters rose to their feet, but Abram Sarmiento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emilio Palos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Colombia's Orlando Tafalla quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Abel Gutxi, made in the 63rd minute of the game. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. Orlando Tafalla made in the 69th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Kevin Mastache. Emilio Palos didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 71st minute, which inside left pole to 3-1. If Ignacio Mastache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Colombia's Emilio Palos threw himself towards the right post 95 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ignacio Mastache, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
