After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. Marcinho Mineiro hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. After 56 minutes of play, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bruno Renan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Florestal Futebol Clube's Evaristo Eleazar was substituted for Thierry Henry. 60 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Florestal Futebol Clube's Bruno Renan. Bruno Renan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Florestal Futebol Clube's Arthur de Moraes got a free kick in the 66th minute. Florestal Futebol Clube made a substitution. Matías Camargo replaced Marcinho Mineiro. Santiago Cidro charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Santiago Cidro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Santiago Cidro kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. The supporters of Mexico booed when Florestal Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santiago Cidro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 81 played minutes Florestal Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Jan-Åke Helström. In the 86th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lorenzo Cazalla to maneuver through the defense. 87 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when José Paulo de Lara came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lorenzo Cazalla kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. A long shot from Sherif Cannavaro in the 94th minute of play was well struck, but Dante Lacasa made a really good save at the right post. For all the effort they put into the match, the Florestal Futebol Clube players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mexico.
