In the 3rd minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fathoni Birowo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Greencard was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mamat Wirayudha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fathoni Birowo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Fathoni Birowo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fathoni Birowo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fathoni Birowo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Fathoni Birowo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 23rd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fathoni Birowo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 25th minute of play forced Greencard's goalkeeper Fathoni Birowo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fathoni Birowo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Tora Suarlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Greencard's Fathoni Birowo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 43rd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tora Suarlan was the one to do the kick off. Fathoni Birowo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 53rd minute of play. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 56th minute. Agustín Saelices made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Greencard's Fathoni Birowo managed to reach the ball for a save. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Fathoni Birowo made a huge save. Fathoni Birowo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 59th minute of the match. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fathoni Birowo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 63rd match minute, Greencard was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stevanus Sadikin to maneuver through the defense. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fathoni Birowo having to interfere. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ilham Mahuse struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Greencard. With a little luck, Greencard's Fathoni Birowo got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 73rdth minute of the game Tora Suarlan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fathoni Birowo made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Cristian Sancho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fathoni Birowo. That made the score 0-2 after 77 minutes of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Greencard was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albertus Sadikin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute of the match Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fathoni Birowo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tora Suarlan's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fathoni Birowo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
