If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jean Alves hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eugênio de Carvalho's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. In the 20th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jailson Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benê Fernandez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Eugênio de Carvalho sent off a good shot on target. Jean Alves kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. A collision led to Breguete FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Attila Iványi hit a great ball. After 45 minutes, Antonio Arias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Breguete FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Breguete FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and John Rambo made a kick off. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jailson Soares having to interfere. Breguete FC's Jailson Soares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Breguete FC from getting a goal against them. Felix Montenegro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jailson Soares firmly grabbed it by the left post. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Jailson Soares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Benê Fernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roderick van Boxel took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 78th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Sancho to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th minute, Roderick van Boxel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Breguete FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
