Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Ruano having to interfere. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guarei FC's goalkeeper Armando Ruano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 16 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Armando Ruano. Guarei FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 18 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Betinho Ferreira came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Ruano having to interfere. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Armando Ruano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Ruano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. After some careless play in the Guarei FC defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Armando Ruano. The Guarei FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Armando Ruano should have stopped the shot. Armando Ruano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 37th minute of the match. Wilson Piazza hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Guarei FC's Diguinho Rossi got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Armando Ruano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Armando Ruano in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Armando Ruano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 55 minutes of play, Ecuador's Luis Andino made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Armando Ruano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luiz Eduardo Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Armando Ruano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Armando Ruano made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Guarei FC's Kauan de Senna was substituted for Luiz Eduardo Nunes. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 71th minute after Guarei FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Armando Ruano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Diguinho Rossi's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diguinho Rossi helped the player get up and apologised. Diguinho Rossi kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 80 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Guarei FC's Armando Ruano. Armando Ruano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kauan de Senna in the 83rd minute of the match. Armando Ruano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 93rd minute of the match, Cristian Sancho tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Armando Ruano saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
