Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Leopoldo Baraquiel tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leopoldo Baraquiel in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Julio Garay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Rosario Central's Toto Mansilla slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 1-0 after 12 minutes of play. The throw-in from Fermin Cambiasso in the 16th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Garay having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Baraquiel in the 20th minute of play. In the 25th minute, Leopoldo Baraquiel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Garay having to interfere. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Julio Garay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Rosario Central booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 35th minute Toni Martinovic shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Garay. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Julio Garay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 37th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Horácio Aparecido left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rosario Central fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Rosario Central booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 57th minute, Baltasar Amaya left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rosario Central fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Alex Chicote hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Leopoldo Baraquiel came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patricio Costa struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Julio Garay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. 77 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Garay narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Garay having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 84th minute of play forced Rosario Central's goalkeeper Julio Garay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Garay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Rosario Central's Julio Garay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 88th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Garay prevented the ball from getting in the gole. There was no doubt that Rosario Central were the better team. Rosario Central's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
