Despidida AFC's Fernando Selatse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Forbes in the 5th minute of play. In the 9th minute Dinu Ivănescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Farid Mondragón saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernando Selatse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sid Chadwick, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Farid Mondragón made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dinu Ivănescu in the 13th minute of play. Despidida AFC's Emiliano Velasco got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emiliano Velasco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Farid Mondragón having to make a save. 17 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Dinu Ivănescu came free, but Farid Mondragón reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 22 played minutes Despidida AFC got a freekick which was hit by Dinu Ivănescu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emiliano Velasco in the 23rd minute of play forced C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Farid Mondragón to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute Dinu Ivănescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Farid Mondragón saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 33 minutes, Emiliano Velasco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Despidida AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emiliano Velasco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emiliano Velasco in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Emiliano Velasco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Farid Mondragón was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emiliano Velasco in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Farid Mondragón prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Despidida AFC's Fernando Selatse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kerry Sellers in the 41st minute of play. When Kerry Sellers, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 42 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Fernando Selatse was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After some careless play in the C. A. Independiente defense, Emiliano Velasco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Farid Mondragón. The C. A. Independiente fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Farid Mondragón should have stopped the shot.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Xu Yun Quan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Farid Mondragón made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Emiliano Velasco sent off a good shot on target. When Despidida AFC's Emiliano Velasco in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye C. A. Fernando Selatse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kerry Sellers in the 70th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 73 minutes, Farid Mondragón successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alvaro Raymond in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Farid Mondragón prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 76 minutes had been played when some careless play by C. A. Independiente's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Emanuel Lucila was slow to take the kick. During this time Despidida AFC's players had a chance to rest. The crowd rose to their feet as Alvaro Raymond kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Farid Mondragón. That made the score 0-3 in the 80 minute of play. In the 86th minute, Eric Snowden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Despidida AFC's Alvaro Raymond in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye C. A.
