Jacobo Urdin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sidney Forbes in the 3rd minute. Claudio Marangoni kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kerry Sellers in the 9th minute of play forced La Candela FC's goalkeeper Jacobo Urdin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 9 minutes into the match, La Candela FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kerry Sellers came free, but Jacobo Urdin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, C. A. Independiente's Melvin Ruffin got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 14thth minute of the game Damian Servando who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 15 minutes C. A. Independiente's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Damian Servando who took care of the corner kick. In the 17thth minute of the game Damian Servando who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Damian Servando put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Farid Mondragón. La Candela FC's attentive Michal Prus managed to snatch the ball when Ryszard Prusinowski made a throw-in in the 21st minute of the game. In the 34th minute, C. A. Independiente's Xu Yun Quan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jacobo Urdin. Jacobo Urdin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After a rather tough play, C. A. Independiente's Claudio Marangoni got a free kick in the 36th minute. The supporters of La Candela FC booed when C. A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryszard Prusinowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. La Candela FC were awarded a corner in the 47th minute after C. A. Independiente's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Damian Servando took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of C. A. Independiente's goalie and right to Guaberto Bitxintxo. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. C. A. Independiente's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Damian Servando received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Farid Mondragón tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 59 played minutes C. A. Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Ryszard Prusinowski. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kerry Sellers in the 61st minute of play forced La Candela FC's goalkeeper Jacobo Urdin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Damian Servando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacobo Urdin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xu Yun Quan in the 66th minute of the match. Damian Servandos short, quick shot in the 68thth minute got Farid Mondragón to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jacobo Urdin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sidney Forbes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Gonzalo Soin fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Candela FC's protests and gave Gonzalo Soin a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to La Candela FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Gonzalo Soin hit a great ball. Jacobo Urdin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kerry Sellers, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 76th minute Kerry Sellers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Urdin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damian Servando made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 77thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Farid Mondragón would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Jacobo Urdin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kerry Sellers in the 79th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the match, Sidney Forbes notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of La Candela FC's Jacobo Urdin. Jacobo Urdin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 88 minutes into the match, La Candela FC's goal looked a bit too open when Claudio Marangoni came free, but Jacobo Urdin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Damian Servando might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Farid Mondragón. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Damian Servando ran back to his position shaking his head. Damian Servando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the La Candela FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for C. A. Independiente.
