Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Mancebo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Camilo Salvidor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alberto Tafalla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Camilo Salvidor read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gabriele Batistuta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes, Joel Gaona made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Menchu FC's Camilo Salvidor tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Luque kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
