Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. With an all-out effort, Flying Dutch's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 29 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Higinio Raymundo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 30th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arthur Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arthur Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 36th minute of play. Daniel Zorita scored 0-4 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arthur Amorim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Higinio Raymundo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Higinio Raymundo in the 45th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Flying Dutch players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-4.

In the 52nd minute Basilio Lain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eurico Batista in the 55th minute of the match. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 78 minutes Flying Dutch's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. In the 78th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Arthur Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 87 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arthur Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eurico Batista in the 91st minute of play. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Arthur Amorim made a huge save. João Adolfo Cruz hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Arthur Amorim acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 96th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Daniel Zorita. The Flying Dutch fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
