Cristiano Corrêa hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. 12 minutes into the game, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Juninho Teles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Hector Covarrubias struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Juninho Teles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraguay. Jaime Pardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Juninho Teles made a huge save. After having played for 21 minutes, Hector Covarrubias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paraguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hector Covarrubias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jaime Pardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Juninho Teles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Célio Arce during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Célio Arce hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After 26 minutes Fúria FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jaime Pardo who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Jaime Pardo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Juninho Teles quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Pardo in the 28th minute of play forced Fúria FC's goalkeeper Juninho Teles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fúria FC's Juninho Teles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Fúria FC from getting a goal against them. Primitivo Escribano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juninho Teles having to interfere. Hector Covarrubias might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juninho Teles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hector Covarrubias ran back to his position shaking his head. Juninho Teles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hector Covarrubias, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. If Gilvan Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jaime Pardo came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Paraguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Pardo couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Fúria FC's Célio Arce got a free kick in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wágner Dante to make the kick off. Hector Covarrubias hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. 57 minutes into the game, one of Fúria FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Paraguay a penalty, 58 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jaime Pardo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Fúria FC's Juninho Teles. 2-0. Juninho Teles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Primitivo Escribano in the 61st minute of the match. Juninho Teles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Pardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Celsinho Fonseca charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Celsinho Fonseca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Fúria FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celsinho Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juninho Teles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hector Covarrubias in the 65th minute of play. Juninho Teles came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias. But to his dismay, Hector Covarrubias quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. 75 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Wágner Dante came free, but Jacobo Nores reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juninho Teles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Pardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Fúria FC's Juninho Teles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Pardo in the 79th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hector Covarrubias in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juninho Teles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 82nd minute, Primitivo Escribano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Hector Covarrubias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Fúria FC's zone, Hector Covarrubias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juninho Teles came out of the goal and Hector Covarrubias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute Jaime Pardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juninho Teles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Fúria FC's Gilvan Vaz got a free kick in the 87th minute. If Wágner Dante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Primitivo Escribano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaime Pardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Juninho Teles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hector Covarrubias hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Paraguay had played much better football throughout.
