When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Sebastian Villa sped through Al-Ahli's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Younis Al Harban. 38 minutes into the match, Al-Ahli's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Younis Al Harban reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luca Espinar succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 42nd playminute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmundo Espiga was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Al-Ahli's Faisal Al Sohali got a free kick in the 56th minute. In the 58th minute, Sebastian Villa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Honduras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. A sloppy throw-in by Ebrahem Al Qatam in the 61st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Honduras's Esteban Carvallo. In the 65th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteban Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Edmundo Espiga put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Younis Al Harban. Younis Al Harban showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Younis Al Harban took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75thth minute of the game Edmundo Espiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Al-Ahli's Younis Al Harban was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Al-Ahli's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Younis Al Harban reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Younis Al Harban dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Edmundo Espiga hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. A throw-in in the 95th minute of the game was made by Ebrahem Al Qatam with Aamir Al Sallal as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Honduras walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
