The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lautaro Navarro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Edmundo Espiga came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Espiga couldn't finish the play. Mamdouh Hayat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mamdouh Hayat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mamdouh Hayat was the one to do the kick off. Edmundo Espiga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Clud Almagro having to make a save. The supporters of Al-Ahli booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Ocampo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 53 minutes into the match, 최 마 sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Lautaro Navarro threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for 최 마 this time. After a rather tough play, Al-Ahli's Othman Al Shaikh got a free kick in the 61st minute. Edmundo Espiga might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Clud Almagro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edmundo Espiga ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Othman Al Shaikh in the 65th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Clud Almagro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 66th minute of play. The supporters of Honduras booed when Al-Ahli was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shaban Al Motaire didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sebastian Villa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clud Almagro having to interfere. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Clud Almagro in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 80th minute of play forced Al-Ahli's goalkeeper Clud Almagro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Edmundo Espiga put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Clud Almagro. Honduras's Esteban Carvallo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ebrahem Al Qatam, made in the 93rd minute of the game. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Al-Ahli eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
