De Pelgrims's Mike Zoetmulder proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save De Pelgrims from getting a goal against them. In the 5th minute Perivaldo Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 8 minutes of play, De Pelgrims's Henk Cardinaal made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Manzanares was left in no man's land by his defense there! Axel Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Mike Zoetmulder made a huge save. In the 12th minute Colombia were awarded a corner. Axel Montenegro went to the cornerflag to take it. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Axel Montenegro put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Mike Zoetmulder. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abram Sarmiento in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mike Zoetmulder saved De Pelgrims from getting behind. Mike Zoetmulder made an important save on a dangerous shot by Axel Montenegro in the 22nd minute. Orlando Tafalla kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After some careless play in the De Pelgrims defense, Abram Sarmiento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mike Zoetmulder. The De Pelgrims fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mike Zoetmulder should have stopped the shot. The De Pelgrims fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when De Pelgrims's Perivaldo Eger looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Zé Pedro Figueiredo made in the 33rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Montrel Perpiñán immediately put the ball in play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Perivaldo Eger in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Manzanares saved Colombia from getting behind. A sloppy throw-in by Zé Pedro Figueiredo in the 36th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Colombia's Axel Montenegro. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Pascual Carballar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colombia's supporters rose to their feet, but Pascual Carballar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mike Zoetmulder breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathias de Ruijter in the 39th minute of play. Zé Pedro Figueiredo made in the 41st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Theo Tuyp. In the 43rd minute Abram Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike Zoetmulder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the game, Erben Roelofs was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. De Pelgrims's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Colombia the free kick. After 46 played minutes De Pelgrims got a freekick which was hit by Erben Roelofs. De Pelgrims's Mike Zoetmulder proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save De Pelgrims from getting a goal against them. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

52 minutes into the match, De Pelgrims's Henk Cardinaal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Manzanares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pedro Manzanares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Perivaldo Eger went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Pedro Manzanares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Perivaldo Eger's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Mathias de Ruijter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Pedro Manzanares made a huge save. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Colombia from getting a goal against them. Pedro Manzanares was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Perivaldo Eger showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-5 in the 77 minute of play. De Pelgrims's Mike Zoetmulder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ignacio Mastache in the 81st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henk Cardinaal in the 82nd minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Manzanares stood somewhat misplaced when Perivaldo Eger came free in front of goal and shot 2-6 to the left of him in the 84 minute. 86 minutes into the match, Perivaldo Eger dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Pedro Manzanares, 2-7. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mathias de Ruijter got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mathias de Ruijter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 94th minute, Santino Seco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When De Pelgrims's Perivaldo Eger in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Colombia's goalie prevented a goal.
