In the 18th minute, Jose Sanz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 26 minutes into the match, Laion Social Club's goalkeeper Natal Arrieta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaime Pardo. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mercurio Caraballo during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The throw-in from Montrell Babia in the 39th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Paraguay's Alan Campos. When Lidon Poz fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Laion Social Club's protests and gave Lidon Poz a yellow card for diving instead. A long shot from Jose Sanz in the 47th minute of play was well struck, but Natal Arrieta made a really good save at the right post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mercurio Caraballo to strike the kick off in the second half. When Lidon Poz was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 57 minutes had been played. 56 minutes into the game, one of Laion Social Club:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Jaime Pardo shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After a defensive mix-up in Paraguay's zone, Mercurio Caraballo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacobo Nores came out of the goal and Mercurio Caraballo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hector Covarrubias took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Natal Arrieta. Natal Arrieta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Natal Arrieta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hector Covarrubias in the 72nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hector Covarrubias in the 78th minute of play forced Laion Social Club's goalkeeper Natal Arrieta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
