Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) SSC Napoli's Jens-Erik Andreasson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jens-Erik Andreasson in the 3rd minute of play. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sakarias Bocklund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th minute, Lautaro Puig got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sakarias Bocklund having to interfere. When Lautaro Puig came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Costa Rica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Puig couldn't finish the play. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Sakarias Bocklund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Costa Rica's Axel Tasis got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as SSC Napoli's Clark Reuterwall slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 1-0 after 25 minutes of play. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute, Walter Lindholm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tommy Gråberg in the 34th minute. Sakarias Bocklund came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Costa Rica's Aaron Alcocer. But to his dismay, Aaron Alcocer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. SSC Napoli's Sakarias Bocklund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 44th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Axel Tasis to make the kick off. Sakarias Bocklund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 51st minute of the match. In the 55th minute, Lautaro Puig got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Tasis got free with Sakarias Bocklund in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of SSC Napoli booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 69th minute, Clark Reuterwall made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sakarias Bocklund having to interfere. In the 75th minute, Clovis Christiaens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Walter Lindholm kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match.
