Jokin Bernal started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 5th minute of play forced Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's goalkeeper Erik Thorstvedt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's Erik Thorstvedt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 9th minute of play. Michel Hervé received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's Michel Hervé slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 1-0 after 15 minutes of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Jokin Bernal sent off a good shot on target. Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Valdemar Guerreiro, made in the 24th minute of the game. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michel Hervé in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Michel Hervé reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. The goal made the score 2-0. If Jokin Bernal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Michel Hervé kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jokin Bernal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. After having played for 47 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. Salvador Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 58th minute of play forced Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's goalkeeper Erik Thorstvedt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Illescass short, quick shot in the 61stth minute got Erik Thorstvedt to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Brent Weeks kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Erik Thorstvedt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. After having played for 69 minutes, Michel Hervé managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michel Hervé was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 74 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Salvador Gisbert. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert got a free kick in the 75th minute. Erik Thorstvedt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alex Chicote hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Atli Matras hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 90 minutes into the game, Brent Weeks was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barrikako Herensugeak F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. After 90 played minutes Barrikako Herensugeak F.C got a freekick which was hit by Brent Weeks. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
