The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Simon Högberg was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Peru were furious when Anthony Alvarado was red carded, 48 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests.
