Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Froilan Iaki in the 25th minute of the match. Damaso Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. 30 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Congo Bongo the free kick. In the 30th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Illescas to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Froilan Iaki in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 35th minute, Froilan Iaki left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Congo Bongo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. A collision led to Congo Bongo getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Sergio Austin hit a great ball. Froilan Iaki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Froilan Iaki's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Damaso Sancho to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Damaso Sancho in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. If Froilan Iaki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Damaso Sancho's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergio Austin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With 76 minutes on the clock, Jose Correa commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 76 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Venezuela! In the 78th minute there was a penalty for Congo Bongo. Franz Beckenbauer stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. 3-0. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damaso Sancho in the 81st minute of play. When Congo Bongo's Damaso Sancho in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Wu Hong Ning got a throw-in 87 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Sergio Austin. In the 88th minute Froilan Iaki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damaso Sancho scored 4-0 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 93rd minute, Özalp Yavuzalp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Congo Bongo fully deserved thier win.
