Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Guntademaro Goyenechea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Guntademaro Goyenechea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guntademaro Goyenechea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by General Velásquez's Renato Goycolea. But to his dismay, Renato Goycolea quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 12th minute of the match Anselmo Johans sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Henry Tucknott didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clemente Tuñon, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. 27 minutes into the match, General Velásquez's goalkeeper Henry Tucknott had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clemente Tuñon in the 28th minute of play. With a little luck, General Velásquez's Henry Tucknott got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when General Velásquez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shi Fan Rong didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clemente Tuñon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Ecuador booed when General Velásquez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renato Goycolea didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Guntademaro Goyenechea managed to get in a good position for a shot. General Velásquez's supporters rose to their feet, but Guntademaro Goyenechea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. General Velásquez's Henry Tucknott played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 64th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guntademaro Goyenechea. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. 73 minutes into the match, General Velásquez's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Henry Tucknott reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Henry Tucknott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Ecuador manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing General Velásquez to win.
