Edmundo Espiga was slow to take the kick. During this time Honduras's players had a chance to rest. 17 minutes into the game, Geovanni Soeiro threw the ball into play from the sideline. Honduras's Christian Sancho quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Diamantino Arruda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 18th minute of play. Edmundo Espiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Diamantino Arruda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmílson Veloso in the 23rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Diamantino Arruda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luís Guilherme Carvalho's late challenge caught a Honduras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Guilherme Carvalho helped the player get up and apologised. Luís Guilherme Carvalho hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Diamantino Arruda was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Luca Espinar. Edmílson Veloso scored 0-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lautaro Navarro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sebastian Villa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Diamantino Arruda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enio Azevedo in the 33rd minute of play. Edmundo Espiga who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 35thth minute tested the skills of Diamantino Arruda when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 37th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Ocampo to maneuver through the defense. After 38 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Milagros Cabal. Edmílson Veloso's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Lautaro Navarro - 0-2 was put on the score board in the 39th minute. 43 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Enio Azevedo came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Enio Azevedo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dorian Linares kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. Diamantino Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 51st minute of the match. 54 minutes into the match, Sosoco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Espinar came free, but Diamantino Arruda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diamantino Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Villa in the 56th minute of the match. In the 61st minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diamantino Arruda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastian Villa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 72ndth minute of the game Edmundo Espiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sosoco FC's Diamantino Arruda was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Geovanni Soeiro made in the 75th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Luís Guilherme Carvalho. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enio Azevedo in the 81st minute of play. In the 83rdth minute of the game Edmundo Espiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sosoco FC's Diamantino Arruda was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luís Guilherme Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. In the 85th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteban Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. A throw-in in the 87th minute of the game was made by Geovanni Soeiro with Luís Guilherme Carvalho as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After having played for 89 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Diamantino Arruda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. The supporters of Honduras booed when Sosoco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Guilherme Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Sosoco FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
