In the 44th minute, Juan Diego Tenorio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Waldemar Klimkiewicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Primitivo Escribano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Waldemar Klimkiewicz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hector Covarrubias in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jaime Pardo to make the kick off. Primitivo Escribano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldemar Klimkiewicz having to interfere. ACR SA's Waldemar Klimkiewicz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Pardo in the 69th minute of play. Waldemar Klimkiewicz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Diego Tenorio in the 74th minute of the match. In the 75th minute, Hector Covarrubias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Waldemar Klimkiewicz was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Jaime Pardo hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the ACR SA defense, Jaime Pardo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Waldemar Klimkiewicz. The ACR SA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Waldemar Klimkiewicz should have stopped the shot. Waldemar Klimkiewicz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Pardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Waldemar Klimkiewicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hector Covarrubias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Paraguay had played much better football throughout.
