To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Prudencio Lucila showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prudencio Lucila having to interfere. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Prudencio Lucila made a huge save. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by ľƼ-6-ľȜ ♆ ƬЄ ƢƲЄƦЄƧ MƛƬƛƦ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After 44 minutes, Abel Hernando mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ľƼ-6-ľȜ ♆ ƬЄ ƢƲЄƦЄƧ MƛƬƛƦ and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 51st match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to ľƼ-6-ľȜ ♆ ƬЄ ƢƲЄƦЄƧ MƛƬƛƦ getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Juan Domenec hit a great ball. 61 minutes into the match, ľƼ-6-ľȜ ♆ ƬЄ ƢƲЄƦЄƧ MƛƬƛƦ's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Prudencio Lucila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Prudencio Lucila came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 79 played minutes ľƼ-6-ľȜ ♆ ƬЄ ƢƲЄƦЄƧ MƛƬƛƦ got a freekick which was hit by Wilfredo Pacorro. 81 minutes into the match, ľƼ-6-ľȜ ♆ ƬЄ ƢƲЄƦЄƧ MƛƬƛƦ's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Prudencio Lucila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Damaso Manex fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ľƼ-6-ľȜ ♆ ƬЄ ƢƲЄƦЄƧ MƛƬƛƦ's protests and gave Damaso Manex a yellow card for diving instead. Damaso Manex kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Ecuador's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
