Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Francisco Seco made the kick off which started today's match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maximiliano Escribano in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Melchor Elija prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 6 minutes into the match, Francisco Seco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Melchor Elija. Sunnyvale FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisco Seco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 12th minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melchor Elija saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute, Cristian Iacob hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sunnyvale FC's goalkeeper Melchor Elija, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 19th minute of play forced Sunnyvale FC's goalkeeper Melchor Elija to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Sunnyvale FC's Rickey McLain slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Joaquin Gayoso. That made the score 1-2 after 22 minutes of play. After 26 minutes, Alberto Gisbert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Uruguay and the Sunnyvale FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alberto Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Melchor Elija made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 28th minute of play. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francesco Di Lillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Rickey McLain struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sunnyvale FC. Kevin Carballal charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kevin Carballal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 35th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kevin Carballal to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Kirk Camacho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Kirk Camacho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 42nd minute, Jaime Cazalla sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sunnyvale FC's Melchor Elija didn't even have to move. Francisco Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Melchor Elija tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Uruguay were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francesco Di Lillo to make the kick off. Melchor Elija made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Gisbert in the 58th minute of play. After 58 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Franco. In the 61st minute Francesco Di Lillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Melchor Elija took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 64 played minutes Sunnyvale FC got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Iacob. Melchor Elija showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 65th minute of the match. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sunnyvale FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jaime Cazalla was slow to take the kick. During this time Uruguay's players had a chance to rest. Uruguay were awarded a corner in the 68th minute after Sunnyvale FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jaime Cazalla took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francesco Di Lillo in the 70th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francesco Di Lillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Seco got free with Melchor Elija in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 80 minutes Sunnyvale FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jaime Cazalla who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Uruguay's corner Francisco Seco fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Melchor Elija quite easily take care of the ball. Sunnyvale FC's Francesco Di Lillo got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francesco Di Lillo in the 83rd minute of the match. Francisco Seco scored 1-3 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Melchor Elija, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sunnyvale FC's goalkeeper Melchor Elija, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Maximiliano Escribano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Melchor Elija tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
