In the 21st play minute Moises Fernandino came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Generoso Koldobika. 1-0. The supporters of El Salvador booed when The Old Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacobo Gomesano didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the match, The Old Boys's goal looked a bit too open when Abram Luque came free, but Generoso Koldobika reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Old Boys's Generoso Koldobika proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save The Old Boys from getting a goal against them. The Old Boys's Candido Buinton quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Mateo Leguizamo, made in the 37th minute of the game. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Moises Fernandino to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, The Old Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nereo Medardo to maneuver through the defense. Generoso Koldobika came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by El Salvador's Moises Fernandino. But to his dismay, Moises Fernandino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. The Old Boys's Cláudio Suárez quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jorge Magrina, made in the 65th minute of the game. Angelo Meder charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Angelo Meder the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to The Old Boys getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moises Fernandino in the 84th minute of play forced The Old Boys's goalkeeper Generoso Koldobika to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Generoso Koldobika took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Luque, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abram Luque kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Generoso Koldobika made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Fernandino in the 89th minute of play. The throw-in from Mateo Leguizamo in the 94th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by The Old Boys's Candido Buinton. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. El Salvador fully deserved thier win.
