Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Costa Rica's Axel Tasis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Abel Carballo made in the 11th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Atlético Capixaba's Vágner Urbano. 13 minutes into the game, Lautaro Puig threw the ball into play from the sideline. Atlético Capixaba's Gerson Leal quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Atlético Capixaba's attentive Kaká Garcia managed to snatch the ball when Efrain Moruga made a throw-in in the 14th minute of the game. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hugo Ferrant made in the 24th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Lautaro Puig however managed to control. Atlético Capixaba's Kaká Garcia managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Efrain Moruga in the 26 minute of the game. In the 40th minute, Romeu Diniz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 42 minutes into the game, Efrain Moruga threw the ball into play from the sideline. Atlético Capixaba's Kaká Garcia quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 44 minutes into the game, Lautaro Puig was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlético Capixaba the free kick. In the 46th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Noboa to maneuver through the defense.

Efrain Moruga made in the 52nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Eliseo Noboa however managed to control. Patrick Teles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Atlético Capixaba's Nilton de Godoi managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Juan Rubio in the 55 minute of the game. The throw-in from Hugo Ferrant in the 84th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Atlético Capixaba's Nilton de Godoi. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Mete Gol managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Capixaba's supporters rose to their feet, but Mete Gol was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 87th minute Lautaro Puig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Teles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Acácio Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, Costa Rica could leave the field as winners, despite Atlético Capixaba having more of the ball for most of the match.
