Lautaro Puig scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Luiz Paranaense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alexander Carballo got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when André Guimarães sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Paris San Duíche's Duda Figueiredo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 1-1 after 45 minutes of play. In the 47th minute, Abel Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. André Guimarães was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Alfredo Ceresso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paris San Duíche's defense didn't have a chance, in the 54th minute, when Axel Tasis scored to the left of an out of position Pedro Luiz Paranaense, making the score, 1-2. Pedro Luiz Paranaense made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Axel Tasis sent off a good shot on target. After 58 minutes, Diego Leite mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paris San Duíche and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Paris San Duíche getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Ismael Couto hit a great ball. With a little luck, Paris San Duíche's Pedro Luiz Paranaense got control of the ball when Axel Tasis tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Paris San Duíche's Deivid Machado got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After a rather tough play, Paris San Duíche's José Vítor Leão got a free kick in the 65th minute. Pedro Luiz Paranaense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. José Augusto Veloso might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Augusto Veloso ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 79th minute Ismael Couto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Axel Tasis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Luiz Paranaense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Hugo Ferrant hit a great ball. André Guimarães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 91st match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Moruga to maneuver through the defense. Although Paris San Duíche had been in control for most of the match, Costa Rica still came away with the win.
