Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beto Heidemann in the 26th minute of play. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Serafim Barros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Benedito Trigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 43 minutes into the game, Sagarana Clube's Éder Madureira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. In the 52nd minute Serafim Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sagarana Clube's Benedito Trigo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Sagarana Clube from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafim Barros in the 58th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruno Salles replaced Éder Madureira. 92 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Salles came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
