In the 5th match minute, Império was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Luís Tasso to maneuver through the defense. Luís Paulo Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valentin Nuxila, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 12 minutes into the match, Império's goalkeeper Luís Paulo Garcia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cosme Videl. After a defensive mix-up in Banderaló's zone, Ediberto Pontes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Serafino Miro came out of the goal and Ediberto Pontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luís Paulo Garcia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amado Palban in the 24th minute of the match. Império's Júlio Donatello got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Banderaló's Carolo Bingen got a free kick in the 28th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ediberto Pontes in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Serafino Miro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 31 minutes into the game, one of Império:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 33 minutes, Banderaló's Gustavo Eduino got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Luís Paulo Garcia. With a little luck, Império's Luís Paulo Garcia got control of the ball when Omar Tercero tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cosme Videl succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-0 in the 39th playminute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Claudio Abecia during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.

The wind increased when Amado Palban made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Império booed when Banderaló was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carolo Bingen didn't get a good kick on the ball. 55 minutes into the match, Banderaló's goal looked a bit too open when Umberto Marinho came free, but Serafino Miro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Império's Júlio Donatello got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valentin Nuxila hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Ediberto Pontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Serafino Miro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Omar Tercero in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luís Paulo Garcia saved Império from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Omar Tercero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luís Paulo Garcia was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. Serafino Miro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ediberto Pontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Omar Tercero kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. The Império fans' excitement grew in the 72nd match minute when Império's Ediberto Pontes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Cosme Videl took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luís Paulo Garcia. Luís Paulo Garcia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. After a defensive mix-up in Império's zone, Omar Tercero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Paulo Garcia came out of the goal and Omar Tercero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Banderaló's Omar Tercero got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ediberto Pontes in the 87th minute of play forced Banderaló's goalkeeper Serafino Miro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ediberto Pontes came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Império fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ediberto Pontes couldn't finish the play. Império's Júlio Donatello got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Banderaló's Claudio Abecia got a free kick in the 95th minute. Ediberto Pontes's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 96thth minute, Serafino Miro skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Império's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
