The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Caio Branco in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juan Arruda saved Gigante da Colina from getting behind. When Cristiano Nogueira came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Gigante da Colina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristiano Nogueira couldn't finish the play. Juan Arruda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caio Branco in the 21st minute of play. Juan Arruda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduardo Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Claudinho Salles's late challenge caught a Catao FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Claudinho Salles helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Catao FC booed when Gigante da Colina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinho Salles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juan Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Barros in the 28th minute of the match. Umberto Gaúcho charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. If Eduardo Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 33rd minute, one of Gigante da Colina:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gigante da Colina. Juan Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caio Branco in the 37th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, Caio Branco notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Gigante da Colina's Juan Arruda. Juan Arruda was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 43 minutes into the match, Gigante da Colina's goal looked a bit too open when Marcel Galvão came free, but Juan Arruda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iuri Queirós was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 46th minute. Gigante da Colina's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Iuri Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gigante da Colina's supporters rose to their feet, but Iuri Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Deivid Siqueira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 80th match minute, Gigante da Colina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Umberto Gaúcho to maneuver through the defense. Umberto Gaúcho kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Juan Arruda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Goiano in the 83rd minute of play. When Caio Branco came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Catao FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caio Branco couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Gigante da Colina booed when Catao FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramón Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristiano Nogueira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 90th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Deivid Siqueira. Catao FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iuri Queirós in the 94th minute of play forced Catao FC's goalkeeper Deivid Siqueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juan Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Barros in the 96th minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Catao FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
