Luís Paulo Garcia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 13th minute of the match Cercado got a corner. Império's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cristiano Nogueira ran over to the corner to take the kick. Cercado's Cristiano Nogueira was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Luís Paulo Garcia in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Luís Paulo Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eriberto Leme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luís Paulo Garcia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iuri Queirós in the 15th minute. Luís Paulo Garcia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano Nogueira in the 17th minute of play. Juan Arruda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Donatello, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. If Cristiano Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristiano Nogueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Paulo Garcia having to interfere. Juan Arruda was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 39th minute Ediberto Pontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Arruda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute Cristiano Nogueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Paulo Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Império's Luís Paulo Garcia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Nogueira in the 44th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Cercado's goal looked a bit too open when Ediberto Pontes came free, but Juan Arruda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristiano Nogueira was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Cercado getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Iuri Queirós hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Cercado's Iuri Queirós got a free kick in the 55th minute. The supporters of Império booed when Cercado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arthur Vides hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Ediberto Pontes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Juan Arruda made a huge save. With 62 minutes on the clock, Umberto Marinho commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Júlio Donatello came free with the goalkeeper in the 65th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Juan Arruda could save by the left post. Júlio Donatello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luís Paulo Garcia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iuri Queirós in the 68th minute of the match. In the 69th match minute, Império was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júlio Donatello to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute Eriberto Leme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Paulo Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Iuri Queirós notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Império's Luís Paulo Garcia. Luís Paulo Garcia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 82 minutes into the match, Império's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Nogueira came free, but Luís Paulo Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Paulo Garcia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eriberto Leme in the 83rd minute of play. Giovanni Gerber kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Iuri Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Paulo Garcia having to interfere. Luís Paulo Garcia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eriberto Leme in the 95th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Cercado's Arthur Vides got a free kick in the 96th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cercado fans cheered their team off the field, for while Império had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
