David Seaman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlo Darrigrande to strike the kick off in the second half. Roberto Layton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aníbal Alagoano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aníbal Alagoano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Roberto Layton made a huge save. 90 minutes into the match, Jenipapo SC's goal looked a bit too open when Jamar Eldridge came free, but David Seaman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
