In the 5th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alessio Treglia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alessio Treglia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 10th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Mechita F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Alessio Treglia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alessio Treglia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dante Lacasa didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 20th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. 27 minutes into the game, Fabio Sazon recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dante Lacasa. Fabio Sazon showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladimiro Ledesma in the 30th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Mechita F.C's Teobaldo Jenaro got a free kick in the 30th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Mexico's Joel Gaona sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alessio Treglia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alessio Treglia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luca Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladimiro Ledesma in the 39th minute of play. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Richard Lanckneus in the 43rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Mechita F.C's Richard Lanckneus slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dante Lacasa. That made the score 3-0 after 45 minutes of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

In the 53rd minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alessio Treglia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led Mexico's Joel Gaona to fire away a dangerous shot which Alessio Treglia despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Joel Gaona struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Alessio Treglia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Vladimiro Ledesma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st minute, Victoriano Gaitano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 66th minute of play forced Mechita F.C's goalkeeper Alessio Treglia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Mechita F.C's goalkeeper Alessio Treglia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Richard Lanckneus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alberto Tafalla scored 3-2 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alessio Treglia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Henry Gonzales was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 95 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 94th minute of the game. One of Mechita F.C:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mexico:s goal. Despite being the better team, Mexico failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
