If Gigel Seremet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute, Nelson Mendoza made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Nelson Mendoza didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 2-0 via right post in the game's 20th minute. UFC STEAUA's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! 23 minutes into the match, UFC STEAUA's Gigel Seremet sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 31st minute of play forced UFC STEAUA's goalkeeper João Massa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Patricio Costa fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Patricio Costa a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. In the 34th minute of the match Rafet Faydalı sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 38 minutes, Jonathan Ferrant successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A collision led to UFC STEAUA getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Gervásio Vilhena hit a great ball. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised João Massa. João Massa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Nelson Mendoza received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out and tried to block the shot, but Nelson Mendoza slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 45th minute.

When Rafet Faydalı came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the UFC STEAUA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafet Faydalı couldn't finish the play. João Massa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelson Mendoza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelson Mendoza in the 65th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Massa stood somewhat misplaced when Tomas Illescas came free in front of goal and shot 3-2 to the left of him in the 67 minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Massa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 74 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Nelson Mendoza came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Camilo Gaos hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nelson Mendoza scored 5-2 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 88 played minutes UFC STEAUA got a freekick which was hit by Xu Yue Yuan. After having played for 89 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nelson Mendoza took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-2. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelson Mendoza in the 95th minute of play. There was no doubt that UFC STEAUA were the better team. UFC STEAUA's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
