Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fidel Kimetz, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Fidel Kimetz came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fidel Kimetz in the 24th minute of the match. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. 1-1 became the score in the 26th minute when Fidel Kimetz elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. The supporters of Tracto booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute of the match Fred de Brito shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 44 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Juan Sebastián Puig. Fred de Brito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
