The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Leonardo Peru's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonardo Peru helped the player get up and apologised. When Panama's Tomas Berganza in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Berganza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fausto Bide breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolas Perutxo in the 76th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. ALAMBRE de PÚAS had won after a very even match.
