Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Niki Lauda got the match started through his kick off. The RIVER fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Târban in the 6th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute, one of Venezuela:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Venezuela. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niki Lauda in the 13th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Niki Lauda notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 18 minutes into the game, Eric Târban cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. In the 43rd minute, Fidel Gora hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 44 played minutes, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marcial Lordi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Venezuela reached it. RIVER's Marcial Lordi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 48th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense. Niki Lauda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcial Lordi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Niki Lauda took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. RIVER's Tobias Belmiro was substituted for Bruno Oxarra. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcial Lordi was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niki Lauda, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Niki Lauda came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcial Lordi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play.
