A collision led to Sarmiento getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Abelardo Mouricio hit a great ball. Sarmiento's Daniel Ulizes got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rosendo Olivar in the 33rd minute of play. David Theodore struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Lautaro Navarro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sarmiento. Sebastian Villa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bernardo Pudes got a throw-in 45 minutes in the game and the ball was received by David Theodore.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmundo Espiga made a kick off. In the 51st minute of the game Bernardo Pudes made a throw-in which Romeo Buinton played forward. David Theodore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Ulizes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Luca Espinar hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rosendo Olivar in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lautaro Navarro saved Honduras from getting behind. After 93 minutes, Eloy Evarado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sarmiento and the Honduras players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eloy Evarado hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Honduras's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
