The throw-in from Uriel Cresencio in the 5th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by El Salvador's Lorenzo Yepes. Luís Gustavo Mangueira scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ricardo Zorita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luís Gustavo Mangueira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Zorita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Luís Gustavo Mangueira made a precise shot to the right of Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 14 minutes into the game, one of El Salvador:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Gustavo Mangueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 27 minutes into the game, Del Materno Vengo's Luís Gustavo Mangueira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricardo Zorita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Uriel Cresencio made in the 32nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Jorge Chayo however managed to control. Xabi Alonso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute Luís Gustavo Mangueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Del Materno Vengo's Luís Gustavo Mangueira. But to his dismay, Luís Gustavo Mangueira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Xabi Alonso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Zorita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Xabi Alonso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere.

Del Materno Vengo's Luís Gustavo Mangueira was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 51st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After 57 minutes, Luís Gustavo Mangueira made it 0-7 with a short kick to the right side. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Abram Luque got a free kick in the 60th minute. After having played for 61 minutes, Luís Gustavo Mangueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Del Materno Vengo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Gustavo Mangueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 62 played minutes Del Materno Vengo got a freekick which was hit by Luís Gustavo Mangueira. 74 minutes into the match, Luís Gustavo Mangueira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luís Gustavo Mangueira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-8. 77 minutes into the game, Luís Gustavo Mangueira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-9. Ricardo Zorita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Del Materno Vengo's Ambrosio Ritchie was substituted for Jorge Chayo. In the 86th minute, Xabi Alonso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ricardo Zorita didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gabriel Amaya went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-10 was the resulting score. Gabriel Amaya hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match.
