Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evaristo Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evaristo Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fausto Romero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. Pedrinho Godoi made in the 20th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Evaristo Montenegro immediately put the ball in play. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alvaro Rudolfo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Alvaro Rudolfo got control of the ball when Milagros Fraga tried to sneak it across the goal line. It was a well-played corner which Milagros Fraga managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Toninho Gomes kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marquez Padolles in the 33rd minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alvaro Rudolfo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alvaro Rudolfo came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Julian Murillo. But to his dismay, Julian Murillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto Romero in the 36th minute of play. Alvaro Rudolfo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 39th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fausto Romero to make the kick off. Pedrinho Godoi got a throw-in 52 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Evaristo Montenegro. 53 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fausto Romero. Alvaro Rudolfo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 60 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alvaro Rudolfo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Peru booed when Coritiba Foot Ball Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Sabóia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alvaro Rudolfo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fausto Romero in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Peru's Julian Murillo got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedrinho Godoi made in the 76th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. 77 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alvaro Rudolfo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 78 minutes into the match, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Alvaro Rudolfo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eliseo Mina scored 3-0 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alvaro Rudolfo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 85th match minute, Coritiba Foot Ball Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedrinho Godoi to maneuver through the defense. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. In the 87th minute, Pedrinho Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Rafael Gallo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute, Rafael Gallo made a precise shot to the right of Alvaro Rudolfo. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Peru's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
